Trio boys arrested for series of January armed robberies

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) — Three boys have be formally charged with robbery with a firearm in connection to a string of robberies at local businesses in January.

According to the Tallahassee Police Department, the series of armed robberies happened inbetween January seventeen and January Nineteen. The incidents occurred at American Freight on West Tharpe Street, Dollar General on Whittaker Road, and X-Mart on Apalachee Parkway.

In each case, victims told police that the studs entered the businesses and pointed guns at them while taking money.

The three suspects were very first arrested on January twenty four after leading police on a high-speed pursue through the city in a stolen vehicle. Authorities arrested then 18-year-old Tradarius Gaines, Tamylon Williams, 21, and Javaris Jones, 22.

The boys were booked into the Leon County Jail on charges of trespassing an armed structure, grand theft of a motor vehicle, resisting an officer without violence, brunt on an officer, and fleeing and eluding police with disregard for safety of people or property.

TPD investigators spent several months reviewing physical evidence, analyzing cell phone data, and interviewing witnesses before arresting the three boys in connection to the armed robberies.

On July Nineteen, TPD formally charged Gaines and Williams with robbery with a firearm at all three businesses. Jones was charged with robbery with a firearm at American Freight and Dollar General.

Gaines, Williams, and Jones are being held in the Leon County Jail.

LCSO posted the movie to Facebook on Tuesday.

The pursue ended in the arrest of three robbery suspects, 22-year-old Javaris Jones, 18-year-old Tradarius Gaines, and 21-year-old Tamylon Williams.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) — Three wished robbery suspects are caught. They were arrested in connection to a latest string of store hold-ups.

Authorities caught the trio after a high speed pursue through Tallahassee’s west side.

Residents in Crescent Hills off Tharpe Street in Tallahassee are astonished store robbery suspects were able to escape the dead-end neighborhood.

Lyne Pullam is glad she wasn’t home at the time. She said, “It most likely would’ve indeed freaked me out. I most likely would’ve stayed inwards because I know that we would’ve been safer inwards because if they’re carrying guns and we had been outside, we could’ve put ourselves in danger.”

Authorities say it was 22-year-old Javaris Jones, 18-year-old Tradarius Gaines, and 21-year-old Tamylon Williams who drove through that neighborhood.

The high speed pursue commenced when an officer witnessed a car back in at Market Square Liquor Store on Capital Circle Northwest at 9:55 Tuesday night, which is five minutes before the store closed.

The arrest report says the car sped off, went to Crescent Hills, and narrowly avoided hitting a police patrol car head-on as they fled the neighborhood.

“It’s either that or let them go and get on out of here; because with no outlet, criminals get desperate, so they’re liable to put other people in danger back here.” Donna Durrance, a resident of Crescent Hills.

The arrest report says the pursue went down Trimble and Hartsfield Roads, Tharpe Street and Old Bainbridge Road, with speeds topping one hundred miles an hour.

It ended on Volusia Street.

The arrest report says it was determined that the car was stolen from an apartment on Nekoma Lane, it says directly across the street from where Jarvaris Jones lives.

The store robberies happened over the last three weeks. Authorities say the suspects held up store clerks and customers at gunpoint. The stores included Dollar General Stores, liquor stores, X-Mart, and Circle K.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) — Three suspects have been arrested after leading police on a high-speed pursue through Tallahassee in a stolen vehicle.

According to arrest documents, on Tuesday, the Tallahassee Police Department and the Leon County Sheriff’s Office were conducting a joint robbery surveillance in the west section of Tallahassee. The investigation is in response to a string of armed robberies via Tallahassee over the past three weeks.

A TPD sergeant conducting surveillance at Market Square Liquors at one thousand four hundred forty Capital Circle NW observed a vehicle inject the parking lot of the liquor store, back in directly in front of the front door to the store, and sit idling with its headlights on for approximately five minutes. As the sergeant called for backup, the vehicle all of a sudden drove out of the parking lot, heading southbound on Capital Circle NW. The sergeant followed the vehicle and ran the tags, which exposed the vehicle had been reported stolen.

LCSO and TPD units proceeded to pursue the vehicle through Tallahassee with lights and sirens, but the driver refused to stop.

The vehicle was clocked heading eastbound on W. Tharpe Street at one hundred two mph. The vehicle then turned northbound on Trimble Road, heading towards Hartsfield Road.

Police attempted to set up a roadblock at Hartsfield and Trimble Road but the vehicle never slowed down or attempted to avoid the patrol vehicles and TPD units were coerced to budge out of the way to avoid being rammed.

Two LCSO units took over the pursuit and pursued the suspect vehicle eastbound on W. Tharpe St. The vehicle then drove in the opposite lane of traffic, almost striking numerous vehicles.

The vehicle then turned south on Old Bainbridge Road, where numerous road crews were working nighttime construction. The vehicle continued traveling at a high rate of speed towards the workers, who had to hop out of the way to avoid being hit.

An LCSO unit used a PIT maneuver to disable the vehicle, which subsequently lost its tire and crashed at the eight hundred block of Volusia Street.

Three suspects inwards the car fled on foot and refused to stop when commanded. Shortly after, all three suspects were found hiding in the forest after discarding numerous chunks of clothing that matched clothing from other robberies that TPD and LCSO are investigating.

Authorities arrested Javaris Jones, 22, Tradarius Gaines,Legitimate, and Tamylon Williams, 21.
