Van Horn was pronounced dead at the hospital. A 10-year-old and an 11-year-old were pronounced dead at the scene, OHP says. Three 13-year-olds were taken to the hospital in critical condition. Earlier today, a source close to the family said one of the teenagers died Tuesday, but OHP reports that one child remains in critical condition and two others are recovering.

It’s not clear if the victims were wearing seatbelts.

OHP says all of the victims in the car are from the Tulsa area. Jenks Public Schools confirmed in a statement that Van Horn is a Jenks parent and the two children that died were Jenks students.

We are deeply saddened by the unexpected passing of Jenks’ parent Erin Van Horn and two Jenks Public Schools’ students. Our most heartfelt condolences are extended to all families affected by this tragic accident, and our thoughts are with those students who are recovering both mentally and physically from their injuries. We wish them all a quick and finish recovery, and we urge everyone to respect the privacy of the families during this difficult time. Because law enforcement officials have not released the names of the students, and out of respect to the families, Jenks Public Schools will not be referencing or discussing the names of those students involved.” – Jenks Public Schools

A Tulsa soccer league posted a message on Facebook about the crash:

“MTsc Nation, please send your prayers to the numerous families that are suffering from a tragedy today when an SUV carrying what we understand to be as many as four of our players reportedly was involved in an accident at around Trio:30 p.m. Monday afternoon. Your prayers for the Kitterman, Edwards and VanHorn families would be greatly appreciated not only for their loss but also the survival and recovery of the loved ones impacted,” wrote Metro Tulsa Soccer Clubs United.

A GoFundMe campaign is now raising money for Van Horn’s family.
