After launching the much-awaited Hexa 7-seater SUV, Tata Motors is ready to launch two all-new products – Kite five sub-compact sedan and Nexon compact SUV. Both the vehicles were previewed at the Delhi Auto Expo last year alongside the recently-launched Hexa. To be placed above below the Zest, the Tata Kite five will target buyers looking for an affordable subcompact sedan. It was speculated to be launched towards the end of this year; however, latest reports suggest that the launch could take place in March 2017.
Likely to be the cheapest sedan in the country, the Kite five could be named Viago/ Altigo or Sway. Similar to the Tiago and Hexa, the sedan has been jointly designed by Tata’s Pune design studion, European Technical Centre (TMETC) in UK and the Italian design centre. The fresh model is based on Tata’s fresh “Influence” design philosophy, which was very first introduced in Tiago. It is expected to come as a replacement to the ageing Indigo eCS.
