Car thief caught in Chicago

Climb on PLEASANT — Chicago police caught the man suspected of stealing a car at a local Kwik Journey — where he left behind the stolen car he drove up in — earlier this month.

The suspect, a 48-year-old man from Chicago, allegedly drove up to the Kwik Tour, nine hundred forty three southeast Frontage Road just after one p.m. March Ten, stopped in the store and stole a hamburger, according to police.

He allegedly drove off in a white Honda Accord registered to a 31-year-old Greenfield woman after he found it unlocked, unoccupied and running.

Witnesses identified the car that the suspect had arrived in and left behind: a white Honda Civic that was reported stolen in Illinois.

The suspect, still driving the white Honda Accord he stole at the Climb on Pleasant Kwik Journey, led police on a pursue on Chicago freeways causing two injury-inducing car crashes before police managed to catch him, according to a press release from the Climb on Pleasant Police Department.

The white Honda Accord was totaled by the end of the pursue, the release states.

Chicago and Climb on Pleasant investigators compared the suspect with security footage at the Kwik Excursion and determined that he was the one who stole the car, the release states.

The suspect is reportedly being held in a Chicago jail, but criminal charges are pending both there and in Racine County, according to the release.

She had insurance and is now getting a brand fresh car for being slow.

The cars were both white Hondas. maybe he got into the wrong car at kwik tour?

You know it take a lot of “effort” to turn that key off and liquidate it before going into the store.

He allegedly drove off in a white Honda Accord registered to a 31-year-old Greenfield woman after he found it unlocked, unoccupied and running. While clueless perhaps she was also insurance-less which left her money-less, too.
