Black Panther Set Photos Taunt Car Pursue, Screen Rant

Black Panther Set Photos: T’Challa Hitches a Rail

In a film that featured appearances from almost all of the major heroes in the Miracle Cinematic Universe – plus the onscreen debut of Tom Holland’s Peter Parker/Spider-Man – it’s telling something that Chadwick Boseman’s T’Challa/Black Panther still wound up being one of the most memorable elements of Captain America: Civil War. With just one total movie under his belt as the character, Boseman has quickly become a fan dearest in the Miracle world, and much to the excitement of fans everywhere – will be returning next year with his very own standalone film with Black Panther, directed by Creed filmmaker, Ryan Coogler.

Filming for the highly-anticipated standalone film has been underway for fairly some time now, with the Black Panther production team recently taking to South Korea to film some specific sequences set outside of T’Challa’s home nation of Wakanda. And said to be at the center of those international shoots, is a giant car pursue sequence that will reportedly involve one hundred fifty cars, more than seven hundred people, helicopters, and gunfire, and is shaping up to be one of the film’s largest activity sequences.

As filming in South Korea proceeds, more and more set photos from the filming of the car pursue have been making their way online. After a fresh movie suggested another peek at the Dora Milaje in the film as well, a fresh batch of set photos feature the king himself, T’Challa, in his Black Panther armor railing atop a speeding car. Posted by Marvel_Freshman, the photos just proceed to taunt the utter scope and technical aspects of the scene itself:

The pursue will reportedly be inbetween T’Challa and one of the film’s antagonists, which many believe to be Michael B. Jordan’s Erik Killmonger, and it looks to be the fattest sequence taking place in South Korea. It’s worth noting also that Black Panther will be the 2nd Miracle film to use South Korea as a backdrop, following 2015’s Avengers: Age of Ultron, and while it doesn’t look like Black Panther will feature almost as many international backdrops as that team-up film did, it does let fans know they shouldn’t expect Black Panther to take place entirely in Wakanda.

It’s entirely possible that this South Korea sequence could be linked somehow to Andy Serkis’ Ulysses Klaw, an international arms dealer very first introduced in Age of Ultron, and who is expected to be one of the main antagonists in Black Panther. It may explain why possibly both T’Challa and Killmonger are venturing outside of their home nation at the same time, to track down Klaw and either work with him or attempt to take him down. Right now, anything is possible, so it’s hard to know for sure what might lead to this mammoth of an act sequence, which already looks to be yet another reason fans can get excited for Black Panther, just in case they needed yet another one.
