Car dealer investigated after customers’ cars were repossessed

The Munching County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a Pataskala car lot after customers reported buying cars that were later repossessed, sometimes after having been paid for in utter.
Remak Auto Sales was located at thirteen thousand three hundred seventy five National Rd SW. It shows up to be closed and the company’s website has been taken down.
One customer reached out to Six On Your Side after buying a two thousand six Ford Fusion from Remak in May. She asked that we not identify her. She said she bought the car for $Two,200, paid $1,800 in cash, and agreed to pay the remaining $599 within thirty days.
“And then on the morning of June 13th, I wake up and my car is gone. So, I thought primarily someone stole my vehicle. Being repossessed was the last thing I ever thought of,” she said.
She said she instantly attempted to reach Remak. “I’m calling them, I’m texting from eight o’clock in the morning until about one o’clock in the afternoon,” she said.
After doing her own detective work, she tracked the repo-men to an auto auction in Crooksville where Remak got the cars it sold. The auction told her, and confirmed to Six On Your Side, that they repossessed the cars because Remak never paid for them.
When ABC six visited the car lot, we found it empty, except for one loan car with a vapid tire still for sale. The sign in the window of the office read “open” but the doors were locked.
Remak’s holder is named Koco Jovanovski. ABC 6/FOX twenty eight has been incapable to reach him.
While ABC 6/FOX twenty eight was at Remak, several customers arrived.
Brian Felix said he routinely bought cars from Remak to resell at his own lot.
“I was coming to buy cars right now from them,” he said. “I’m like, ‘why is this place empty? And he’s not picking up my phone calls. He usually picks up.”
Felix continued to dial Jovanovski’s number. At one point, the voicemail could be heard asking for the caller to leave a message. Felix strung up up the phone and said, “I don’t know why he’s not picking up. This is so. (breathe). Koco, why, why, why, why?” he asked.
Gerardo Garcia displayed up, hoping to get the title for his car.
He had paid $1,500 in cash for the car. When asked whether he still had the car, Garcia responded “I still have the car.”
He may have his car, but so many customers’ cars have been repossessed, the Slurping County Sheriff has opened a criminal investigation.
In the meantime, the woman who very first reached out to Six On Your Side is attempting to figure out how get a fresh set of wheels.
“Our money is gone. So it’s not effortless to just go out and say, ‘hey I’m gonna buy another vehicle.’ So at this point it’s a little bit frustrating,” she said.
